We live in a world full of uncertainties and risks, making it a challenge for many to live a dignified life free from dependence. While developed nations have established robust social safety systems over the last century to provide universal protection, places like AJ&K still lag, leaving much of the population without adequate support. AJ&K, with its unique geopolitical and environmental challenges and prone to natural calamities, faces evolving risks that threaten livelihoods, especially for those living in poverty. The government recognizes these challenges and is committed to providing universal social protection, addressing poverty, unemployment, social exclusion, and inequalities and other vulnerabilities, therefore, introduced AJ&K Social Protection Policy, aligned with global Sustainable Development Goals and national priorities. As the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, I am proud to announce our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our vulnerable populations through the launch of a comprehensive Social Protection Program. This initiative reflects our dedication to uplift the most at-risk members of society, ensuring they receive the support and resources needed to lead dignified lives. Together, we strive to build a more inclusive and resilient future for all citizens of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
