The Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has contributed an additional Rs. 1.000 billion to the Social Protection Trust Fund, significantly boosting its capacity to support vulnerable populations across the region. This increased funding aims to enhance the provision of subsistence allowances and other financial assistance to widows, orphans, elderly individuals, differently-abled persons, and other marginalized groups. The additional amount is expected to expand the reach and impact of the Social Protection Assistance programs, ensuring more comprehensive coverage and support for those in need. By reinforcing the Trust Fund, the government is demonstrating its commitment to social welfare and improving the living standards of its most vulnerable citizens. This financial boost will also aid in the implementation of sustainable and transparent welfare initiatives, as overseen by the Social Protection Board.
