The Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) invited applications for assistance under its Social Protection Program, with the registration period open from 12th to 31st August 2024. The process was conducted through 10 District Social Welfare Officers, enabling citizens across the region to apply for financial support. During this timeframe, a total of 118,825 applications were received, reflecting significant public interest and need for social protection services. The large volume of applications demonstrates the critical demand for financial assistance among vulnerable populations, including widows, orphans, elderly, and differently-abled persons. The data gathered will now undergo validation to ensure that assistance is directed to the most deserving individuals. This program marks a crucial step in extending social security and welfare benefits across AJK, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of its citizens.
